About Us
Malmesbury Choir
Malmesbury Choir is a friendly, non-auditioned SATB choir open to singers from their mid teens upwards. With 70 members across soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections, we sing to a high standard and embrace a wide range of genres - from classical anthems and musical theatre to feel-good pop. Our performances are known for their warmth, humour, and emotional depth.
Founded in 2013 by a group of like-minded individuals, the choir has grown into a vibrant and versatile ensemble. We regularly perform across the South West, appearing at dedicated concerts, charitable events, and competitions. Our preferred venue is the beautiful Malmesbury Abbey, where audiences often leave with smiles and lasting memories.
Malmesbury Choir brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and musical abilities to share the joy of singing. While our repertoire typically features stand-alone pieces, we also take on larger works—recently performing Dreamweaver by Ola Gjeilo and Charles Anthony Silvestri. We’re proud to have won awards at both the Wootton Bassett Arts Festival and the Mid Somerset Festival.
Our musical director is Laurie Jones, with accompaniment by Andy Allpass.
